Dohatec New Media has recently hosted a high-level delegation from Sri Lanka at the headquarters in Paltan. The delegation, comprising representatives from various sectors of the Sri Lankan government and the World Bank, visited to gain insights into Bangladesh’s successful implementation of an e-Government Procurement (e-GP) system. The visit was extended at the invitation of the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA).
The delegation boasted prominent figures, including Mr. E.A. Rathnaseela, Director General of Sri Lanka’s Department of Public Finance, and Mr. D.C. Siribaddana, the Secretary General of the National Procurement Commission. Notably, the visit was further enriched by the participation of World Bank representatives, such as Mr. Mohan Gopalakrishnan (Senior Financial Management Specialist), Ms. Heena Doshi (Senior Procurement Specialist), and Ms. Anjali Vituaranage.
The collaborative visit went beyond simple observation, creating a platform for exchanging knowledge and best practices in implementing e-GP. Dohatec New Media, leveraging its extensive GovTech experience, hosted a series of presentations tailored to the delegation’s specific interests.
Dohatec’s President, Mr. A K M Shamsuddoha, summarized the company’s development of various MIS systems over 32 years of successful software implementation. Mr. Nazmul Islam Bhuiyan, Dohatec’s e-GP Director, presented on e-GP’s functionalities, including e-tendering, e-contract management, e-auditing, and 24/7 support. He also discussed its positive impact on Bangladeshi procurement and the e-GP rollout plan.

After that, Ms. Taslima Akter, the Director of Knowledge and Training at Dohatec, shared valuable insights into the e-GP training process for the assembled delegates. Participants also had an opportunity to partake in a practical training session hosted at the Dohatec headquarters. Another notable aspect of the event was a detailed presentation by Mr. Masudur Rahman, the Director of Government Solutions at Dohatec, who provided a comprehensive overview of e-PMIS, explaining its principal functions and expounding its integration with the e-GP system. In addition, Ms. Nuzhat Atiqua Nafis, the Security Architect at Dohatec, imparted crucial information to the delegates regarding digital signatures in e-GP and PKI Enablement Services.

Beyond the presentations, the Sri Lankan delegation took a comprehensive tour of Dohatec’s headquarters. This firsthand look at the company’s dynamic team, innovative work environment, and unwavering commitment to GovTech solutions provided valuable context for the knowledge exchange. The day culminated in a professional luncheon hosted by Dohatec New Media, which provided an informal space to solidify relationships and explore potential avenues for future collaboration.
