On the 4th of October 2023, the employees of Dohatec’s head office in Paltan, Dhaka, came together to organize a dua mahfil at the Dohatec headquarters to celebrate the birth anniversary of the late Bangladeshi entrepreneur and software industry female pioneer Luna Shamsuddoha. The organizers put in a lot of effort to ensure that the event was a befitting tribute to the memory of the extraordinary woman who left a lasting impact on the software industry in Bangladesh and the employees of Dohatec.
The dua mahfil was attended not only by the employees of the head office but also by employees from other Dohatec offices who had come to pay their respects and celebrate the life and legacy of Luna Shamsuddoha. The event commenced after the Zuhr prayer, and the attendees offered their prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul. One of the speakers was Fahmida Akter, Dohatec’s Chief Technical Officer and Project Lead. She emphasized that Luna Shamsuddoha was not only the boss of the company, but she also cared for each and every employee on a personal level. She also said that Luna prioritized the safety of female employees and ensured their safe return home during overtime projects. Other employees also shared their stories and experiences with Luna. Taslima Akter, Dohatec’s Training and Knowledge Management Director, became very emotional while talking about Luna and couldn’t hold back her tears. Feroz Ahmed, Dohatec’s Senior Software Engineer, expressed his regret for not being able to spend more time with Luna, as he felt envious listening to the stories shared by his colleagues.
